Synopsis:

 
  100 cases with urinary retention after hemorrhoid and fistula operations were divided into 2 groups. One group was treated with acupressure and 25 minutes of foot reflexology. The other group was given intramuscular injections of 1 mg of neostigmine to the buttocks. The group that was given reflexology had a higher success rate.

Conclusion:

 
 

Foot reflexology, in conjunction with acupressure, was found to be effective for the relief of urinary retention.
