Synopsis:

Patients who had ankle sprains were given hand and foot reflexology on appropriate reflexes and elevation of the ankle. The swelling went down within 3-4 days and the ankle was back to normal within a week. For more serious ankle sprains (lacerative fracture, laceration of ligament, large hematoma, etc.) patients needed 2-3 weeks to recover.

Conclusion:

Foot reflexology was found to be effective for the relief of ankle sprain.
