Minxing, W., "Discussion on the Diagnostic and Therapeutic Techniques for Liver Diseases." 2004 China Symposium Reflexology Report, pages 17-18.

The study suggests that for liver diseases, modern medicine is superior in its test and examination technology, but that hand-work therapy can take advantage of various organic characters of the human vital energy flows, including the network of the meridian system in the human body, or the reflection character of the nervous system of the body surface. For a certain period in the clinical study of liver cancer, some subtle sensitive areas at the body surface and the feet were discovered. Then stimulation was applied to these areas with an overall satisfactory therapeutic effect.

Stimulation of reflexes of the liver have an overall therapeutic effect on the body.
