Synopsis:

 
  43 cases, both male and female, ages 16-72, with continuous hiccups (3 for one day, 21 cases for 1-3 days and 19 cases for 3-5 days0, were given 20-25 minutes of foot reflexology. Clients were advised to drink 300-500 ml water after treatment. After one session, 27 cases were symptom-free; and after 2 sessions, hiccups disappeared in 11 cases. Two cases needed 4 treatments.

Conclusion:

 
 

Foot reflexology was found to be effective for the relief of hiccups.
