Synopsis:

A comparative study of 186 patients, both male and female, with fat deposits in their blood, was done for 4 years. They were divided into four groups. Group A was given 30-40 minutes of foot reflexology daily for 5-6 times a week, along with foot soaking before, and drinking warm water afterward with focus on the brain, heart, lung, liver, gallbladder, stomach, spleen, pancreas, thyroid and the excretory system reflexes. Group B did 25 minutes a day of exercises 4-5 times a week. Group C were given 20 sessions of stimulation by an electrical current to their occipitofrontal area for 15 minutes. Group D were given 300 mg of Lipunthyl daily for 2 weeks, then the dosage was decreased. Group A, B and D reduced their cholesterol. Group C had no results.

Conclusion:

Foot reflexology was found to be effective in the reduction of fatty deposits in the blood. However, the results are not completely conclusive due to the study design.
