Synopsis:

151 cases with infantile leukemia after chemotherapy and various complications such as URTI, flu, pharyngitis, constipation, anorexia, indigestion, herpes zoster, anemia, thrombo-cytopenia, leukopenia, mouth cavity ulcers, gingival infection, and atopecia were given foot reflexology. Complications caused by psychic, environmental, or diet were regulated by working on the endocrine reflexes. Anemia, thrombo-cytopenia, and leukemia improved, but reoccurred when the session stopped. It was noted that foot reflexology was not effective for acute cases of laryngopharyngitis and tonsillitis. Results: 75 cases had significant effect, 60 cases were effective, and 16 were ineffective.

Conclusion:

Foot reflexology was found to be effective for the relief of the complications of infantile leukemia after chemotherapy.
