85 people with thrombocytopenic purpura were divided into two groups. Thirty-nine were given 20 minutes of light touch foot reflexology for 40 sessions and 46 were given an expectant and anti-infectious treatments including glucorticord hormone, blood transfusion, immuno-suppressant or traditional Chinese medicine. Thirty-five of those treated with foot reflexology showed greater results than those given medicine.

Foot reflexology was found to be effective for the relief of thrombocyto-penia purpura, subcutaneous hemorrhage, muco-hemorrhage, hemorrhagic disease, and viseral hemorrhage.
