Synopsis:

33 cases, both male and female, with acute lumbar sprain were treated with 20 minutes of foot reflexology with electrical stimulation on the lumbar vertebrae foot reflexes, acupuncture needles in certain areas, and an electrical current applied daily for 3-6. The pain experienced by the patients varied from 3 to 30 days. Results: 50% reported complete relief; and the remaining 50%, reported great improvement. 42% of all the cases were completely cured after 2 days.

Conclusion:

Foot reflexology has been shown to be effective for the relief of acute lumbar sprain in conjunction with using electrical stimulation of foot reflex zones.
